3 Nov 1885 - Moyock Twp. - Commissioners Report of Years Provision for Emiline CULPEPPER, widow of Jesse CULPEPPERWilliam A. POWERS, Samuel A. POWERS and John HUMPHRIES allotted articles amounting to $239.53 which was deficient $60.47.  The widow was the only one in the family.

not dated - "We the undersigned widow & Heirs at Law of the Late Jesse CULPEPPER desst Heer by Pray the Hon Court of Probate to Grant Letters of administration to W.L. POWERS upon him with bond and Security according to Law."  /s/ Emaline [x] CULPEPER widow; Wm. H. POWERS & wife; G.M. [x] CULPEPER & wife; E.D. [x] CULPEPER & wife; Calvin [x] MORSE & wife; Edwin [x] CULPEPER.  Test: S.A. POWERS

6 Nov 1885 - Application for Letters of Administration.  W.L. POWERS, being sworn, states that Jesse CULPEPPER is dead without leaving any will and that the widow & heirs at law have refused their claim to administer; that the value of the estate is about $500 and that Cordelia A. POWERS, Geo. M. CULPEPPER, Luiza MORSE, Tinsa? S.A. POWERS, Enoch D. CULPEPPER, and Edwin CULPEPPER are entitled as heirs thereof.  /s/ W.L. POWERS

6 Nov 1885 - Administrator's Oath.  W.L. POWERS swears that Jesse CULPEPPER died without leaving a will and that he will administer all the goods, chattels, rights & credits of Jesse CULPEPPER to the best of his ability.  /s/ W.L. POWERS

6 Nov 1885 - Judgment for Deficiency in Widow's Year's Allowance.  It is ordered that Emaline CULPEPPER, widow of Jesse CULPEPPER, recover $60.47 from W.L. POWERS, administrator of Jesse CULPEPPER, deceased, when personal assets come into his hands.  /s/ H.B. ANSELL, Clerk Superior Court

6 Nov 1885 - Order to sell personal property for cash.  /s/ W.L. POWERS, Administrator

1 Dec 1885 - A list of the goods and chattles belonging to the estate of Jesse CULPEPPER, deceased, sold by W.L. POWERS, administrator.  This list was 3 pages in length.  Various buyers were the widow, N.B. POWERS, William McPHERSON, William BALLANCE, Bill BRIGHT, W.P. CREEKMORE and J.J. MORSE.

1 Dec 1885 - May 11, 1886 - The estate of Jesse CULPEPPER in account with W.L. POWERS, his administrator.  Various debits & credits listed.
