Joel B. Brickhouse - 1895

29 Apr 1895 - "Please take notice that my husband, the late Joel B. BRICKHOUSE, died intestate in Currituck County on the 21st day of March 1895 leaving no will....being entitled by law to administer on his estate, I hereby assign my right to administer to Parron G. GALLOP, Esq. and request that letters of administration be issued to him".  The heirs at law are: Anna B. OWENS of Creswell, Washington County, NC; Dr. Nelson McCLEES of Pueblo, Colorado, son of Emma McCLEES; Dr. William McCLEES & Emma McCLEES of Wichita, Kansas, son & daughter of Priscilla McCLEESAnna B. OWENS, Priscilla McCLEES and Emma McCLEES are all sisters of Joel B. BRICKHOUSE.

2 May 1895 - Application for Letters of Administration on the estate of Joel B. BRICKHOUSE, decd, by Parron G. GALLOP

9 May 1895 - Report of Commissioners on Widow's One Year's Support.  Commissioners allotted to Elizabeth H. BRICKHOUSE various items out of the estate which was deficient $49.00.  The family only consists of the widow.  /s/ W.L. OWENS, N.B. [his x mark] OWENS, S.M. BEASLEY

not dated - Judgment for Deficiency.  Elizabeth H. BRICKHOUSE, widow of Joel B. BRICKHOUSE, decd, against the personal representative of Joel B. BRICKHOUSE, decd, for $49.00 which is deficient on her one year's support.  /s/ E.W. ANSELL, Clerk Superior Court

not dated - Request of Parron G. GALLOP, admr of J.B. BRICKHOUSE, decd, to be allowed to sell the personal property for cash.

20 Jun 1895 - 16 Dec 1898 - Final Account.  The estate of J.B. BRICKHOUSE, decd, in account with P.G. GALLOP, admr.  Mentions payment of $20.00 to David McKINNEY for coffin.  Total estate was worth $1221.50.  /s/ P.G. GALLOP, Admr

NOTE:  Elizabeth M. "Bettie" Jarvis, daughter of Banister H. & Elizabeth Jarvis, married William H. Happer (of Virginia) in Currituck County on Sept. 15, 1869.  They lived in Tyrrell County, NC in 1870.  She married Joel B. Brickhouse in Currituck County on Dec. 8, 1872.
