22 Oct 1900 - In the matter of administrating on the estate of J.C. BAUM, deceased, to the Clerk of the Superior Court of Currituck County.  This respectfully showeth that I am interested? in said estate by _____? of same and request that a citation issue to Martha Ann BAUM to show cause why she shall not be ____? to have received? her right to administer on said estate.  /s/ T.S. BAUM

29 Oct 1900 - Citation to Person entitled to Letters of Administration - In the matter of the administration of the estate of J.C. BAUM, deceased, to Mrs. Martha Ann BAUM, widow, it appears that she is entitled to letters of administration upon said estate.  /s/ E.W. ANSELL, C.S.C.

19 Nov 1900 - Judgment for Deficiency-Widow's Year's Allowance - Martha Ann BAUM, widow, against the personal representative of Jacob C. BAUM, decd.  Commissioners were appointed to lay off and allot to Martha Ann BAUM her year's allowance out of the crop, stock and provision of her deceased husband.  Amount of deficiency was $128.50 & costs.  A list of articles of personal property was attached.  The commissioners found that the number of the family exclusive of the widow was one.  Said deficiency is to be paid by the personal representative.  /s/ E.W. ANSELL

22 Nov 1900 - Application for Letters of Administration.  In the matter of the Administration of the Estate of Jacob C. BAUMMartha Ann BAUM swears that Jacob C. BAUM is dead without leaving any will and testament and that she is the proper person entitled to Letters of Administration; that the value of the estate is about $100.00 and that Vornie BAUM [Warnie Baum] is entitled as heir thereof.  /s/ Martha Ann [x] BAUM

22 Nov 1900 - Oath of Administrator.  /s/ Martha Ann [x] BAUM

3 Apr 1903 - Final Account of Martha A. BAUM, administrator of the estate of J.C. BAUM, decd - Received $226.09 from sales of sweet potatoes from July 1900 - Aug. 1900.  Paid out $263.71 to various persons.  /s/ Martha A. [x] BAUM, Administrator
