June 1, 1854. Thomas D. SHERMAN & wife Sarah Ann of the County of Jolabush [Yalobusha County] and State of Mississippi to Samuel MURRILL the son of James MURRILL decd. of the County of Currituck & State of North Carolina. Three hundred dollars. Tract of land in Currituck County lying on the Road leading to Powells Point in the vicinity of Poplar Branch and binding on the lands of Edwin (?) DOXEY, Nathan POINER, & Eumrey (?) MURRILL. Seventy-five acres more or less.  /s/ T. D. SHERMAN (seal), S. A. SHERMAN (seal). The deed certified and Sarah Ann privately examined by S. A. PEARSON, Justice of the Peace for Jolabush [sic] County, Mississippi, June 19, 1854.
