[Deed Book 29; pg. 54-55] Willis P. RODGERS of Currituck County sold to Tilman F. MIDGETT of Currituck County, for $500.00, a tract of land in Poplar Branch District joining James OWENS, dec'd., the land of Thos. O'NEAL, formerly the land of John MERCER, dec'd., the land of Barbary BEREY, B. ALLEN and Thos. NEWBERN, containing 100 acres.  This indenture was made September 22, 1864.  Wit: B.H. JARVIS, J.C. FISHER.  /s/ Willis P. RODGERS.

[Deed Book 29; pg. 69-70] Tilmon F. MIDGETT of Currituck County sold to Thos. NEWBERN of Currituck County, for $700.00, a tract of land in Poplar Branch District joining Willoughby OLDS, Willis RODGERS, Benjamin ALLEN, Thos. FORBES, Isaac OWENS and Munro OWENS, containing 80 acres.  This indenture was made August 4, 1863.  Wit: B.H. JARVIS, J.M. COOPER.  /s/ Tilman F. MIDGET.  Registered: Aug. 2, 1865.

[Deed Book 29; pg. 91] John M. MIDGETT sold to Aney B. MIDGETT for $500.00, a tract of land on Bodies island beginning at the NW point of Patrix Creek at John WISE's line and running to the Sea, then to Solomon MANN's, then to the Sound, containing 500 acres.  This indenture was made October 1, 1862.  Wit: Louis S. MANN, Man [x] MIDGETT.  /s/ John M. MIDGETT.  Registered: Feb. 15, 1866.

[Deed Book 29; pg. 153] John M. MIDGETT of Currituck County gave "...for and in consideration of the natural love & affection which I bear to my son Morris MIDGETT..." a tract of land on the east side of Roanoak Island joining the land of John S. MIDGETT on the south, thence with the Sound to Ballast Point, thence to the Maid road, thence to Solomon ASHBEE's, containing 673 2/3 acres, it being the same land which by decree of the Court in the bill of Sally ASHBEE as John S. MIDGETT, father of John M. MIDGETT, was ordered to be conveyed to John M. MIDGETT and which he subsequently entered.  Said value of land being $500.00 and is given to his son at that valuation.  This deed of gift was made July 25, 1861.  Wit: Wm. F. MARTIN.  /s/ John M. MIDGETT.  Registered: May 18, 1866.

[Deed Book 29; pg. 230]  Know all men by these presents that I Spence GRAY of the County and State aforesaid for and in consideration of the sum of Sixteen dollars to me in hand paid the receipt whereof I do hereby acknowledge do bargain sell & convey unto Nathaniel N. HAMPTON and John T. HAMPTON tenants in common of the county & State aforesaid a piece & parcel of land situated as follows—it being the twelth part of the Thomas EVERTON Patent on Brant Island which I heired from Mother the Daughter of Thomas EVERTON Dec’d. containing Ten acres more or less to have and to hold the said lands unto them the said N.N. HAMPTON & J.T. HAMPTON their heirs and assigns forever, and I the said Spence GRAY for myself my heirs and assigns do hereby warrant and forever defend the right and title of said lands against all claims whatever unto the said N.N. HAMPTON & J.T. HAMPTON their heirs and assigns as witness my hand and seal this the 20th day of October 1866.  /s/ Spence [x] GRAY  Attest: S.G. FORBES, V.B. WALKER.  Registered: Dec. 10, 1866.

[Deed Book 29; pg. 268-269] Tilman F. MIDGET of Currituck County sold to Thomas FORBES of Currituck County, for $600.00, a tract of land in Currituck County in Poplar Branch Township joining the lands of the heirs of James OWENS, dec'd., then running to the public road at Thomas O'NEAL's then running to Barbry BERRY's land, then to Benj. ALLEN's, then to Thomas NEWBERN's, containing 100 acres.  This indenture was made January 9, 1867.  Wit:  B.H. JARVIS, C.M. JARVIS.  /s/ T.F. MIDGET.

[Deed Book 29; pg. 357]  This day (blank) of (blank) 1856, I Isaac N. TILLITT for and in consideration of the sum of $300.00 paid by Isaac T. AYDELOTT for all my interest in a  tract of land lying on Powells Point known as Broad Neck being the same I the said TILLITT in common with my Brother & Sister inherited from my Father bounded various courses to a tract of land formerly owned by Joseph ETHERIDGE thence down the Long Island line various courses to the sound down said sound to first station, containing 300 acres.  Witness: B.M. BAXTERRegistered 18th day of May 1860
