Monday, February 26th 1821
   
Ordered Ana Gordon (12), daughter of Clack Gordon, bound to Spence Hall to learn the trade of spinstress.
    Ordered that Harriett Tolor orphan of Mathias Tolor decd. be placed and bound as an apprentice to Julia Harrison until she arrives to the age of 21 years she being now about 10 years of age to learn the _______ business.
    Ordered that Andrew Duke have the right of admr. on the Estate of Willis Etheridge decd. who qualified as such and entered into bond with Caleb Etheridge and Thomas Poyner securities in the sum of $1200
    Ordered that Sally Capps have the right of admr. on the Estate of John Capps decd. who qualified as such and Entered into bond with Solomon Bright and Tully Poyner Junr. securities in the sum of $400
    Ordered that Michael Simmons Esqr. James Cowell Dennis Dozier and Robert Etheridge be appointed commissioners to lay off allot and set apart unto Sally Capps widow of John Capps decd. so much of the stock crop and provisions which were of the said deceased as shall be sufficient for the maintenance of said widow and family for one year under an act of assembly in such cases made provided and make report thereof under your hands and seals to next term

    Ordered that George Griggs be appointed Guardian to Thomas & Jarvis Griggs orphans of Thomas Griggs deceased who entered into bond with [nothing else is written]

    Ordered that Wm. Bonney renew his ordinary bond for the present year who entered into bond with Wm. Capps and Thomas Williams securities in the sum of $100
    The Last Will and Testament of Joseph Ferebee Esqr. Decd. was exhibited in open court and proven by the oath of Caleb Sears one of the subscribing witnesses at the same time George Ferebee & Mitchael Simmons Esqr. Therein named qualified thereto in open court.
    The Last will and Testament of James White Senr. Decd. Was exhibited in open court & proved by the oath of Enoch Ball one of the witnesses thereto at the same time Thomas and Hosea Ball Exors. Therein named qualified as such.
    Ordered that Caleb Sanderson have leave until May Term next to make his Guardian report to his own children
    Ordered that Spence Neal have leave to renew his ordinary bond for the present year who entered into bond with Mitchael Simmons and Robert White.
    Ordered that Daniel Sanderson have leave until May Term next to make his Guardian report to his wards estate.
    Ordered that Luke Brown be appointed Guardian to Caleb, Thomas and Samuel Brown orphans of Thos. Brown decd. who entered into bond with John Patridge and Benjamin Parker securities in the sum of $600 for each orphan
    Ordered that Daniel Patrick have leave to keep an Ordinary at his own dwelling house for the present year who entered into bond with Willis Sikes and Joseph G. Ballentine securities in the sum of £100
    Ordered that Willis Sikes have the Right of admr. on the Estate of Robert B. Poyner decd. who qualified and entered into bond with Demcy Northern and John.
N. Wilson securities in the sum of £600
    Ordered that Philip Northern have the right of admr. on the Estate of James Harris decd. who entered into bond and qualified as such and entered into bond with Demcy Northern and John M. Wilson and Jno. N. Wilson
securities in the sum of £50 [I think he must have been getting tired of writing, it looks like he entered John N. Wilson’s name twice.]
    Ordered that Josiah Etheridge be appointed Guard. To James, Rhoda, William, Josiah and Jacob Etheridge orphans of Willis Etheridge decd. who Entered into bond with Brickhouse Bell and Wm. Etheridge securities in the sum of £200 for each orphan.
    Ordered that Ann Gordon daughter of Clark Gordon be placed and bound as an apprentice to Mason W. Parker in the Room of Thomas B. Jarves in Right of his wife Sally who were removed at November Term until she arrives to the age of 20 years she being about 15 years of age to learn the art of a spinster and at the same time the said Mason W. Parker appeared and entered into bond with Thomas Whitehall and Enoch Bell as securities in the sum of £500 for the safe keeping and return of the said apprentice.
    Ordered the John Cox have leave to renew his ordinary for the present year who entered into bond with Thomas C. Casey and Philip Northern securities in the sum of £100
    Ordered that Jacob Aydelett renew his constable bond for the present year who entered into bond with Thomas Jarves Junr. and Wilson G. Nash securities in the sum of £500
    Ordered that Edmund Best be appointed overseer of the public Road on the North Banks district for the present from Currituck sound at John Patrick to the Main Road and Auth. Act therein according to Law.

     The Last Will and Testament of Hezekiah Woodhouse deceased as exhibited in open court and Proved by the Oath of Thomas Poyner one of the subscribing witnesses thereto the same time Peggy Woodhouse executor there named qualified as such.
    Ordered that Jacob Midgett have leave to renew his constable bond for the present year who entered into bond with Peter Brady and John Whedbee securities in the sum of £2000
    Ordered that Amelia Quidley be appointed Guardian to William, James, Levi, John, and Mary Ann Quidley orphans of William Quidley deceased at the same time she entered into bond with Levi and Valentine

    The Last will and Testament of Lydia Greggs was exhibited in Open court and proven by the Oaths of Tully & Wm. Morse the subscribing witnesses at the same time Charlotte Greggs the executor therein named Qualified as such.
    The Last will and Testament of Edmond S. Dozier deceased was exhibited in open court with Joseph W. Downs and Hester Gregory subscribing witnesses at the same time H. D. Barnard and Philip Dozier Exors therein named qualified as such &c Barnard only qualified as Exor &c

Wednesday, May 30th 1821
    Ordered that Olive Jarvis orphan of Solomon Jarvis deceased be placed and bound as an apprentice to William Etheridge and wife until she arrives at the age of 18 years she being now about 9 years of age the 16th day of May 1821 to learn the Spinster business
    Ordered that James Taylor be appointed overseer of the public road from the Cowenjock road to Joel Poyner in the Backwood for the present year and that he act therein according to Law
    Ordered that Mariam Burgess be allowed the sum of $24 for the 1
st year maintenance of a bastard child begotton on her body John C. Dough to be paid in equal Quarterly Payments.
    Ordered that Penelope Perry be allowed the sum of $24 for the 1
st year maintenance of a bastard child begotten on her body by Joshua Guard to be paid in Equal Quarterly payments.
    Ordered that William Ball be appointed overseer of the public road from Thomas Williams Gate to deep Branch and half the laurel swamp road for the present year in the room and stead of Thomas Simmons the late overseer resigned and that he act therein according to Law.
    Ordered that Spence ONeal, Thomas Poyner and Thomas Simmons be allowed the sum of 40 each for their services as patrollers in the Cowenjock district for the year to be paid out of the ____ Law.
    Ordered that Spence Hall, Spence H. Gregory, Nathan H. Gregory audit and settle the accounts and vouchers of Thomas Poyner as Executor of the last will and Testament of Thomas Garrett deceased with said deceased Estate make report thereof to next Court
    Ordered that James Morris, John Murrell, William Gregory, Isaac Tillett and Joshua Harrison be appointed patrollers in the Powells Point district for the present year and that he act therein according to Law

    Ordered that Daniel Meekins be appointed overseer of the
Public Road on Roanoke Island for the present year from the upper End to mudy Branch in the room and stead of Adam Etheridge the late overseer resigned. And that he act therein according to Law.
    Ordered that Patrick Northern guardian to the orphans of Arther Northern decd. have until next term to compleat his guardian a/c and make report thereof to next court.
    Ordered that Isaac Baxter sheriff be allowed the sum of $19.0 ½ for making new doors & plank nails lock and repairs to corner of the jail as per his a/c voucher and that he be allowed the sum out of the County Fund
    Ordered that Isaac Baxter sheriff be allowed the sum of thirty eight dollars and forty cents for vectualing(?)  Thomas Abner White a prisoner on a charge for disturbing the oeace &c that the sum be allowed and paid ___ out of the County Fund.
    Ordered that John Burgess be allowed until next term to complete and report his Guardian account with Camelia West orphan of Edward West deceased
    Ordered that Robert Styron guardian of the orphans of Robert Burgess deceased settle the perishable part of his said wards Estate and make report thereof
    Ordered that James Whitehall, Edward ONeal, Timothy Ives and James Gerred be allowed the sum of 40 shillings each for their services as Patrollers in the Narrow Shore District for the year 1819 to be paid them out of the County Funds
    On hearing the Petition of Enoch Ball Guardian of Mary Dunton orphan of Daniel Dunton deceased It is ordered that he advertise and sell at Public sale on a credit of six months a certain negro boy by the name of Bob the property of his said ward in order to pay arears of the ward according to the a/c voucher and make report thereof to next Term
    On hearing the Petition of Augustus Linton admor. with the will ______ of Issac Bright decd.
    Ordered that Augustus Linton as admor. in right of his wife Lovey on the Estate of Isaac Bright deceased with the will annexed advertise and sell at public venue on a credit of six months negro woman Judah and Two children and man Jack last the property of Isaac Bright decd in order to make a division of same negroes between the legal representatives of the deceased according to the Prayer of the petitioner and make report there of _______ over hands and seals to next court thereof such a sale.
    On hearing the petition of John N. Wilson admor. of Caleb Wilson deceased advertise and sell at public sale on a credit of sixmonths a negro woman named Mame in order to pay the remaining debts of his estate which in arrears with the ______ make report of such sale to next court.

    The Last will and Testament of Thomas Sanderson decd. was exhibited in open Court and proved to be his hand writing by the oath of Daniel Lindsey Senr. and Jesse Barnard and at the same time Thomas Poiner Esquire came into Court and qualified as Executor of the said will.

    The Last Will & Testament of Caleb Chaplain ______ exhibited in open Court and was proved by the oath of Thomas White a subscribing witness - Polly Chaplin came into Court qualified as an Executrix
    Ordered that Polly Chaplain sell the perishable part of said Estate.
    On motion ordered that Burket Guard have the right of administration on the estate of Jehu Evans deceased and qualified as the same and entered into Bond with Mathias Toler and Joseph Best in the sum of six hundred dollars
    On motion ordered that Jacob Aydelett pay the sum of $24 to be paid quarterly unto Margaret Hunnings for the support of a Bastard Child begotten on her body by the same Jacob Aydelett
    Ordered that John Patridge Esqr, Abraham Baum Junr, Caleb Forbes, Thomas Tillett or any three of them settle the accounts and vouchers of Mathias Toler with Estate of Caleb Toler.
    Ordered that James Benson be bound an apprentice to William Gregory.
    On motion ordered that Daniel Lindsay Senr, Jesse Barnard, William Coffee and Thomas White Hall or any three of them audit and settle the accounts and vouchers of Peggy Gray _____ on the estate of Joseph Gray decd. and make return.
    On motion ordered that Daniel Lindsay Senr, Jesse Barnard, William Coffee and Thomas Whitehall or any three of them audit and settle the accounts and vouchers of Thomas Poyner Esqr. Of Thomas White decd with said Estate and make return.
    On motion ordered that Daniel Lindsay Senr, Jesse Barnard, William Coffee and William White or any three of them audit and settle the accounts and vouchers of Thomas Poiner Esqr. of Thomas Sanderson decd. who was Executor of Mr. Hunnings estate and made return.
    On motion ordered that Daniel Lindsay Senr, Jesse Barnard, William Coffee and William White or any three of them audit and settle the accounts and vouchers of Thomas Poiner Esqr. of William Noton who was admin on the estate of William Noton decd. with said William Noton’s Estate and made return.
    This deed of Gift from Caleb Dowdy to Samuel Dowdy and others was proved in open Court by the oath of Caleb Forbes the Subscribing witness thereto and ordered to be Registered.
    Josiah Perry’s Bill of Sale to Frederick Perry dated the fifth day of March 1821 was proved in open Court by the oath of Joshua Guard one of the subscribing witnesses thereto and ordered to be Registered.
    William Simpson’s deed to Benjamin Parker dated 21 day of March 1821 was proved in open Court by the oath of Thomas White senr. one of the subscribing witnesses thereto and ordered to be registered.
    John Crank’s deed to William Fears(?) dated 29th August 1801 was proved in open Court by the oath of Mathias Tolar one of the subscribing witnesses thereto and ordered to be Registered.

Tuesday November 27, 1821
   
Ordered that Betsy White have the right of administration on the Estate of James White decd. was qualified and Entered into Bond with John B. Jarves and Caleb Etheridge in the sum of five hundred pounds.
   
Ordered Betsy White sell the Perishable Estate of said decd.

   On motion ordered that Caleb Etheridge and Enoch Ball Esquire take the private examination of Sarah Fisher wife of Maxey Fisher, Edney Oneil the wife of Samuel O’Neal and Julia Robertson wife of Nathan Robertson and they they make report thereof with the deced.
   The Last will and Testament of Davis Ballentine Senr. was proved in open Court by the oath of Cornelius Davis a subscribing witness and at the same time Henry Ballentine qualified as Executor thereto.
   On Motion Ordered that Henry Ballentine Ex. of Davis Ballentine dec. sell the perishable estate of said dec.
   On Motion Ordered that Caleb White sell the perishable part of dec.
   Ordered that Sanford Doxey be appointed ______ of the Swamp Road in the Room instead of Benson(?) W. Parker he acting there agreeable to Law.
   Ordered that James Brinson be appointed as overseer of the Road in North Banks in lieu of Joshua Gamewell & John Rodgers he acting agreeable to the Law.
   Ordered that Jerimiah Land be appointed overseer of the Road from the Court Houdr yo John Roberts in Room of Thomas Baxter decd.
   Moses Bonny Exr of the last will & Testament of Malachi Jones decd. exhibited a copy of the last will & testament of Malachi Jones decd. as Recorded in the _________ Court of Norfolk with the proper seal of said Court in due form of law and ________ that the same might be Recorded in Currituck County an which being satisfied to the Court this Ordered that the same be Recorded.  At the same time personally appeared in open Court Lydia Jones the widow of Malachi Jones decd. and declared her decent to the will of the said Malachi Jones the copy of which has been exhibited in this Court in due form of Law by ______ Boney the Excr. therein named and was ordered by the Court to be Recorded.
   The Last will and Testament of Edward Holloway decd. was exhibited & proved by the oath of Wm. Everton a Subscribing witness and at the same time Enoch Ball Esqr. qualified as Exr. thereto.
   Ordered that Mosses Bunnel have the right of administration on the Estate of Amos Lee qualified and entered into bond with Henry Ballentine, Wm. Doxey in the sum of one hundred pounds.  Ordered that the adm. sell the perishable part of said Estate.
   Ordered that a Commission _____ to ____  _____ ____ Justice of the County of Rowan to take the private examination of Lovey Taylor wife of Samuel Taylor and they report thereon.
   Ordered that Sampson Heath a Colored Boy of about thirteen years of age be bound to Samuel Beasley as an apprentice.
   Ordered that James Scott and William Doxey Senr. be appointed Guardian to Peter Morris orphan in Lieu of Andrew Bray former Guardian.
   Ordered that Thomas Brooks have the right of adm. on the Estate of Peter Ballentine decd. was qualified and entered into bond with Thomas Luffman & John H.(?) Wilson in the sum of Five Hundred dollars.
