Ordered Nancy (7) and Demsey Highter (5), children of Betsy Highter, bound
apprentices
to Charles Griggs.
Whereas it is supported that by the overture of an act of the General Assembly passed last
session
emancipating Hannah, wife of Jacob Spellman, and two free daughters by the names of
Hannah,
Peggy, and Sally Spellman. On a motion, it is ordered that Jacob Spellman, a person of
color,
enter into bond to indemnify the County of Currituck from any charge whatsoever might
arise on
account of Hannah, Peggy, and Sally.
Ordered Little Robbins, son of Betts Dennis, bound to William Wroten.
Ordered Bannister Gordon, mulatto boy child of Betts Gordon bound to Grundy Barnard.
Tuesday, Feb. 23, 1813
The Last will and Testament of Sarah Padrick dec'd. was exhibited in open
court and proved by the oath of Zebulon Kemp a subscribing witness ____ at the
same time Simeon Sawyer qualified as adm'r. with the will of sd. dec'd.
annexed the Exer of the said will having dec'd. since &c the making said will
and Zebulon Kemp who were entitled to adm. on said dec'd.estate and relinquish
the same ____ in favor of Simeon Sawyer.
Ordered that Simeon Sawyer have the
right of administration on the estate of Sarah Padrick dec'd. with the will
annexed who entered into bond with Jesse Sawyer and Daniel Lindsey securities
in the sum of 200 pounds.
Ordered that Simeon Sawyer be appointed Guardian to Daniel Padrick orphan of
Daniel Padrick dec'd. who entered into bond with Jesse Sawyer and Daniel
Lindsey securities in the sum of _______
Monday, May 31, 1813
Ordered that Sally Aleaunder wife of Isaac Aleaunder be allowed the sum of
15.100 pounds for the maintenance of a Bastard child begotten her body by
William Forbes. To commence from the birth of the child to be paid on Equal
payments by William Forbes &c.
Ordered that Pilidge Hollowell child of Polley Hollowell be placed and bound
an apprentice to Thomas Griggs until he arrives at the age of 21 years he
being now about 3 years old the 15th day of July next 1813 to learn the trade
of a Shipbuilder &c.
Wednesday June 2, 1813
The Last Will and Testament of William Twiford, Senr. dec'd. was exhibited in
open court and proven by the oath of Josiah Perry a subscribing witness
thereto at the same time Hannah Twiford came forward personaly in open court
and entered her discent therefrom & prayed that the same may be recorded and
claims dower on the estate of the said dec'd Twiford as to under an act of
assembly on _______ ________ made and proved and relinquished her right of
Executor ship thereto to Simeon Sawyer with the will annexed thereof &c.
Thursday June 3, 1813
Ordered that Simeon Sawyer have the right of adm'r. on the Estate of William
Twiford deceased with his Last Will annexed who qualified and entered into
bond with Caleb Etheridge and Mathias Bell securities in the sum of 500 pounds
&c
31 August 1813
Ordered that Sally Beasley be allowed maintenance of bastard child
begotten on
her body by William Wicker.
Ordered James Case, a mulatto son of William Case, bound to H. Woodhouse.
Friday, 3 Dec. 1813
Ordered that Rosamond Etheridge the Executive named in the Last of Adam
Etheridge Sen'r. dec'd. came into court and qualified as Executive thereunto
with Benjamin Dough the Exor. who qualified May Term 1813.
