Ordered that the Sheriff sell the one half of a Negro man Taff the property [of] Julian Simmons orphan of Asahell Simmons decd. for six months credit the sale to be on the 4 Day of January next at the house of Daniel Dunton and that the Sheriff advertise the same agreeable to law. Provided that if Col. Duke refuse to have his part of said Negro sold at the same time and place and on the same terms the said sale not to commence.

Ordered that Samuel Ferebee Esqr. be apprentice guardian to Isaac Etheridge, Betsy Dauge, Phillip Dauge, Sally Dauge, Penelope Dauge, Charity Dauge and Samuel Dauge orphans of Peter Dauge decd. and offers Williams Simmons and Joseph Ferebee Esqr. securities...200 pounds for each orphan.

Currituck County} In obedience to the above order of court we the subscribers being summoned and sworn to straighten the road from the mouth of Mitchaell Dauges lane to the lane between Samuel Whitehurst and James Dauge have proceeded to lay off and straighten the same as follows to extend straight on with the road between Philip Dauge and Mitchaell Dauge just over the road ditch far enought to be straight with the road between Philip Dauge and Samuel Whitehurst to the turn of the road to the northward of the trak and we assess the damage to Samuel Whitehurst to be five shillings given under our hand and seal this 4th Day of September Anno Dom 1799.

Ordered that the sheriff summons Thomas Merchant, James Philips, Andrew Bates Esqr. and John Hill and Jeremiah Land together with the County Surveyor to meet on the premises and divide the Real Estate of Zadock Jones decd.agreeable to the prayer of the petitioners and agreeable to law...and make return...the last Monday in November next...witness Spence Hall Clerk of our said Court this XXX day of August in the XXIV year of our Independence Ano Dom 1799. [A plat and description of the land of Zadock Jones appears at this point on the reel. It is a little difficult to read]. State of North Carolina, Currituck County} This Plan represents the land and plantation of Zadock Jones decd. called the mannor plantation situate in the county afsd. in Gibbs Woods bounded as followeth: Beginning at a Black Gum at the head of a Branch near John Hills House...[detailed description of the land]...Doxey Jones have the Northward side and Rebecca Miller wife of Samuel Miller have the southward side and pay to the guardian of Doxey Jones fifty silver dollars with lawful interest from the Date and further that each have a priviledge of the road leading from the Island down to the Marsh and we further say that the Marsh remains as a priviledge for each orphan that is Doxey Jones has three fourths and Rebecca Miller wife of Samuel Miller one fourth and the parties being present did not wish said Marsh to be divided only agreeable to the will reads.  Given under our hands and seals this 12th day of September 1799.
