[John Carlton Garrington was a nephew of L. L. & Meddie E. Corbell Bateman and grandson of Benjamin Bailey & Martha Ann Owens Bateman.  He is buried in the Poplar Branch Baptist Church Cemetery.  His tombstone reads: John Carlton Garrenton born July 24, 1931 & died Oct. 13, 1931.]
