NATHAN KING'S OATH - 1782

No Carolina Cumberland County} "Whereas Capt Nathan King this Day came before me James Dyer one of 
the Justices for said County and Made Oath that on the eighteenth day of August Last the house of 
said Nathan Kings Father was beset by a number of tories and headed by a Certain David Fanning & 
plundered and Robed from the said house sundries waring appearell & besides destroying Certain deeds 
and papers belonging to the within deponent amongst which were one bond payable from Edwin Reece __uth 
Carolina [South Carolina? tape obscures the first word] for a Negro wench sold him Sworn before me 
this 3d Day January 1782 --                                 James Dyer J.P.
