DANIEL FINLEY:

This Indenture made this twenty sixth day of August In the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred 
Ninety, Between Hugh Black of the one part and Daniel Finley of the other part, Witnesseth that the said 
Hugh Black for and in consideration of the sum of Forty two pounds to him in hand paid by the Daniel Findley 
at and before the Sealing and Delivery of these presents, the receipt and payment of which is hereby 
acknowledged by the said Hugh Black and the said Hugh doth hereby for himself and his heirs bargain, Sell, 
alien, setover and confirms unto the said Daniel Findley and his heirs, Executors, Administrators and assigns, 
two certain pieces or parcels of Land in the said County Cumberland containing in the whole one hundred 
acres which lying and being as follows:  The first piece or parcel of land Beginning at a hickory, running 
W 22 chains and 37 links crossing McFalls Branch to a pine thence N 22 Chains 37 Links to a stake between 
pointers then to E22 chains by 37 links to a pine, then crossing over the head of a branch to the beginning 
- containing fifty acres more or less as by the patent for the same Granted to the said Hugh Black may 
appear referance him and had to the Registers Office of Cumberland County Book K page 88  - The other piece 
or parcel of said Bargained premises containing fifty acres as may be seen the Patent of the same to the 
said Black, registered in the same office, in the same Book page 27- Beginning at a pine near the head of 
a branch running E22 chains 37 links to a stake among pointers, then South 22 chains 37 links to a pine, 
thence W 22 Chains 37 links to a pine.  Thence Direct to the Beginning: which two pieces of Land situate 
lying and being in the said county of Cumberland on the waters of Rockfish the said Hugh Black for himself 
and heirs doth hereby Bargain, sells, convey and confirms unto the said Daniel Finlay his heirs executors, 
administrators, assigns forever free and clear of claims from all manner of encumbrances and further the 
said Hugh Black for himself his heirs executors and administrators doth hereby promise, bind and oblige 
himself and his heirs and warrant forever Defend the hereby bargained presents the said Donald Findlay 
his heirs Executors assigns forever -. In witness whereof the said Hugh Black hath herewith set his hand 
and seal the day and year first written above.
