BENJAMIN MORRISON MARRIAGE BOND - 1825

Cumberland County 
Know all men by these presents, that we, Benjamin Morrison and Neill McNeill, are held and firmly 
bound unto his Excellency H.G. Burton Governor of the State Aforesaid, or his successors in office, 
the sum of Five Hundred Pounds, current money, to be paid to the said Governor, his successors or 
assigns: for which payment well and truly to be made and done, we bind ourselves, our heirs, executors 
and administrators, jointly and severally, firmly by these presents. Sealed with our seals and dated 
this 11 day of March AD 1825

The condition of the above obligation is such, That whereas the above bounden Benjamin Morrison hath 
made application for a license for a marriage, to be celebrated between him and Dicey Blanchard of 
the county aforesaid: Now,in case it shall not appear hereafter, that there is any lawful cause or 
impediment to obstruct the said Marriage; then the above obligation to be void, otherwise, to remain 
in full force and virtue.
