Release of the dower of Sarah Yates by Robert Curlee and wife Sarah from the Columbus County register of Deeds, Book K Page 336.

Know all men by these presents that we Robert E Curlee and wife Sarah M Curlee of the County and state aforesaid have this day for and in consideration of the sum of forty dollars to us in hand paid the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged as well as for other divers good considerations remised released relinquished and forever quit claimed unto John Yates of the County of Columbus in the State of North Carolina to all our right title interest or claims to the dower lands of Sarah Yates, widow of Luke Yates, deceased late of the County of Columbus, in the state of North Carolina, said lands all lying and being in said Columbus County. We more especially relinquish and quit claim to such interest as we may or might possess in said lands at the death of the widow aforesaid unto the said John Yates.
In testimory whereof we the said Robert E Curlee and wife sarah M Curlee do hereunto set our hands and affix our seals this 28th day of June AD 1851.

Release of Dower of  Sarah Yates from Jesse Lee and wife Elizabeth of Louisana from the Columbus County Register of Deeds, Book K page 338.

Know all men by these presents that we Jesse Lee and wife Elizabeth Lee of the parish and state aforesaid have this day for and in consideration of the sum of one dollar to us in hand paid the receit whereof is hereby acknowledged as well as for other divers good considerations remised released relinquised and forever quit claimed unto John Yates of the County of Columbus and State of North Carolina to all our right title interest or claim to the dower lands of Sarah Yates, widow of Luke Yates deceased, late of the County of Columbus in the State of North Carolina said lands lying and being in said Columbus County North Carolina. We more especially relinquish and quit claim to such interest as we may or might possess in said lands at the death of the widow aforesaid, unto the said John Yates.
In testimory whereof we the said Jesse Lee and his wife Elizabeth Lee do hereunto set our hands and seals affix this 5th day of June AD 1851.

Know all men by these presents that we Daniel Yates, James C Lee, and Winney Mariah Lee, wife of James C Lee, of the county and state aforesaid have this day for and inconsideration of the sum of one dollar to us in hand paid, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged as well as for other divers good considerations remised released relinquished and forever quit claimed unto John Yates of the County of Columbus in the State of North Carolina to all our right title interest or claim to the dower lands of Sarah Yates, widow of Luke Yates deceased, late of the County of Columbus in the State of North Carolina said lands all lying and being situate in said Columbus County North Carolina. We more especially relinquish and quit claim to said interest as we may or might possess in said lands at the death of the widow aforesaid unto the said John Yates.
