Wilson Family Cemetery - Cleveland County, NC - Cemteries Submitted for use in the USGenWeb Project Archives by Bill Floyd (wdfloyd@rfci.net) WILSON FAMILY CEMETERY Cleveland County, NC The old Wilson Family Cemetery is located about 20 miles north of Shelby, about 0.5 miles west of the Casar to Lawndale road on land owned by Gaston Spurling. There are many graves marked with fieldstones, and the following with inscribed markers. The cemetery is in good condition, and is well maintained. A thank you to Miles Philbeck, Bulletin Editor for The Genealogical Society Of Old Tryon County for giving us permission to use this survey. From Bridges To The Past September 25, 1974. I was at this cemetery January 31, 1998 and I have made some corrections to the readings and the above directions are totally incorrect. This cemetery can be reached from Lawndale, NC by traveling north on the Casar-Lawndale road about 3-4 miles and turning to the east at the second road to the east past Kistlers United Methodist Church. This road is a smooth dirt road and the turn is only a short distance past Kistlers. Follow this road to the stop sign which will be adjacent to the old Warlick Cemetery. Turn right at the stop sign and go to the house on the north side of the road at the bottom of the hill. This is just a short distance. Mr.Warlick at this house can give you permission and tell you how to get to the cemetery. Mr.Warlick works during the week so you might go back up the hill by the Warlick Cemetery to the next house to get permission and directions. This is Mr. Warlick’s Dad. This one will be tough to find in the summer with all the bushes and undergrowth.
