WELLS CEMETERY Located in Cleveland County, NC in No. 4 Township about 5 ½ miles south of Kings Mountain, N.C. and ½ mile south of Dixon School House. It is within ¼ mile of the Quinn Wells home, and is 4 miles north of Kings Mountain Battle Ground. Situated ¾ mile NE of the old Wells house, the logs of which were hewn during the time of the Rev. War, being built one year after the Battle of Kings Mountain, which still stands. Owner of Cemetery: Gordon Hughs Number of marked graves: 11 Unmarked graves: 9 Earliest marked grave: John Wells, d. March 4, 1819 Condition: Out in a field and grown up in small oaks, pines, wild cherry trees and vines. The markers are in fair condition, most of which are easy to read.
