CLEVELAND COUNTY, NC - CEMETERIES - Old Clover Hill Church Cemetery The Old Clover Hill Church Cemetery, Grady McNeilly Rd., Casar, Cleveland Co., NC By Dennis Morgan A church was never built at this cemetery. A lean-to was the only structure built there. As I was told, Grady McNeilly Road dead-ended at the cemetery. There are approximately thirty graves there. Of those thirty, seven had stones but only 5 could be read. The rest were marked by field rocks. This cemetery is in bad condition. Cows have grazed on it in years past and knocked over the stones and broke them. Now large trees grow among the graves. To get to this cemetery take Highway 226 North from Shelby. After you go through the traffic light in Polkville bear right into Highway 10.Travel about five miles and you will reach the Casar town limits. Just inside the town limits turn right on School House Road.Travel about a mile and turn right on Grady McNeilly Road. Travel about another half mile and stop at the first house on the left. The Edwin Lee family lives there. The cemetery is not on their land but you need permission to cross it. Ed will show you where the cemetery is. I was there on Feb. 26, 1998 Information is provided in this format: NAME BIRTH DEATH OTHER Newton, Mahalah Jan 9,1827 Nov 29, 1908 Newton, Benjamin Co.
