McKNEELY and HOYLE CEMETERY This cemetery is located in Cleveland County, N.C. in No. 11 Township two miles northeast of Casar and one mile south of Ward's Creek, out in the woods near a field sloping south, and on the lands of Henry Hoyle (Deceased) or his children. Reported by Mr. L. L. Mode. Owner of Cemetery: Henry Hoyle's heirs Approximate number of marked graves: 6 Unmarked graves: 21 Earliest marked grave: S. H. (Presumably Hoyle), d. July 9, 1954 General condition of cemetery: The cemetery is surrounded by a wire fence and is in fair condition. Mr. L. L. Mode says that Johnie Hoyle cleans off the cemetery every year. (This cemetery is about 30 yards square.) Date of survey: Oct. 23, 1939 Workers: Forest Williams and Anson G. H. D. May 11, 1859 (The workers have thought the three above readings were Hoyles inasmuch as it is on the Hoyle land and from what we could learn has been in their possession for many years. These initials and dates on these three rocks are clear enough. The rocks are native stone and very crude. Workers: Forest Williams and Anson G.
