"MAD" SAM BRIDGES CEMETERY This cemetery is located in No. 2 Township, Cleveland County, N.C. on eastern slope of small hill surrounded by dogwood, wild cherry, wild plum, pine and oak trees, and out in a field. Situated about 2 ½ miles northeast of Boiling Springs, N.C., also about one mile east of Carvus Hamrick's residence, and about ¼ mile east of Julius Spurlin's home place. [This is exactly how this reads; so there must be an error in years lived for S. L. to be the wife of W. W. Green.] Bridges, Nancy D. Feb. 23, 1829 Aged: 73 years, 8 mos., and 3 days "She was married to Caleb Bridges Feb. 1st, 1827. And was baptized by D. Dobbins into the fellowship of the church at Sandy Run June 18, 1855." Bridges, Martha E., daughter of John & Cyntha Bridges B. Mar. 14, 1853 D. Sept. 7, 1855 Martha D. July 6, 1852 Aged: 2 months and 11 days Bridges, _____, infant son of W. & I. Bridges D. June 18, 1815? [The date of death has been typed over repeatedly so that it is impossible to read.] Bridges, Sarah S., daughter of W. & I. Bridges D. Oct. 1843 Aged: 1 year Bridges, A. L., wife of W. B. Bridges B. Dec. 25, 1818 D. Jan. 26, 1872 "Was a member of the Baptist Church for 32 years." Bridges, Samuel D. July 18, 1840 Aged: 66 years The following is a literal inscription taken from the marker of Caleb Bridges: "He was baptized into the fellowship of Sandy Run Church June 1833 by the venerable Drury Dobbins and lived a consistent member to the day of his death; serving as a deacon and minister of the gospel for many years.
