JACOB CANIPE CEMETERY This little family cemetery is located in Cleveland County, N.C. in No. 8 Township five miles north of Lawndale, N.C., being three quarters of a mile west of Kistler's Church and 18 miles north of Shelby, N.C. Owner of Cemetery: Z. Kistler Approximate number of marked graves: 2 Unmarked graves: 10 Earliest marked grave: Jonathan Spangrel, d. April 13, 1838 General condition of cemetery: In 1937 the cemetery was surrounded by timber. The timber was cut and stumps show from 12 to 16 inches in diameter. There was once a modern fence around the cemetery; some parts were found, also a post. (Mr. J. E. Johnson assisted the worker in locating this isolated cemetery. Forest Williams.)
