IVESTER CEMETERY

This tiny family cemetery is located in Cleveland County, N.C. in No. 8
Township west of Tan Yard Cemetery and one mile from Crooked Run Creek,
being five miles north of Lawndale, N.C.

General condition of cemetery: In woods on a hill and slants east.

**D. P. Edwards explains that a Government Marker has already been
secured for Jacob Mauney who is buried in this cemetery, but that it has
not yet been erected due to a mistake in the inscription. He further
explained that it would be corrected and then be put up. Mr. Edwards
says that Jacob Mauney served in the War of 1812. He also stated that a
colored man by the name of John Daniel Carpenter was buried here. Data
