                              HAYNES CEMETERY

                            Cleveland County, NC

     This cemetery is about a mile east of Polkville, NC off Highway
     NC 182. As you go east out of Polkville the road will stay
     relatively level for close a mile and then it starts down a
     pretty steep hill to a creek. The cemetery is located about 300
     yards south of NC 182 out behind the last brick house, on the
     south side of the road, before getting to the bottom of the hill.
     Mr. V. A. Powell lives in the house and owns the property that
     the cemetery is on. I was there January 30, 1998. There are at
     least a dozen graves marked with fieldstones and one readable
     marker.
