Hayes Cemetery - Cleveland County, NC Submitted for use in the USGenWeb Project Archives by W.D. Floyd (wdfloyd@rfci.net) HAYES CEMETERY Cleveland County, NC By Jerry J. Lail A grave that has been overlooked over the years is south of Boiling Springs near the river. From Boiling Springs take 150 south.Turn left onto Maple Springs Church Rd. and travel to the second road on the right which is Honey Haven Farm Road. Turn right onto Honey Haven and go to the first road on the right( just past the Shady Side Drag Strip) and turn right onto the OG Lail Rd. Go to the end of this road. (Dead End) There is an old road off to the west which will lead to the top of the second hill (3/8-1/2 mile). There is a grave with an old hand carved marker on it. The old story that I heard is she was a teenager who died with small pox and was buried on the river hill. The grave is located near a large Holly tree. I try to keep the trees cut back to aid the family to locate the grave if any one is looking for it There is no dates on the tombstone but I understand she must have died around the 1920's. If I can be of any help let me know and I will do what I can.
