CLEVELAND COUNTY, NC - CEMETERIES - The Graham Cemetery The Graham Cemetery, Cleveland Co., NC Surveyed August 21, 1999 by Robert Allen Note:This cemetery is located on private property In memory of Polly Graham wife of John Graham who was born Aug. 31st A.D. 1792 and died Feb. 9th A.D. 1853. Aged 60 years, 5 months 8 days. Inscription: She was an affectionate wife, a kind mother and humble and exemplary follower of Jesus, and died rejoicing in the hope of eternal life through the righteousness of the redeemer. Asleep in Jesus Oh how sweet to be for such a slumber meet! In memory of Sophia N. Herndon who died September the 10th 1840 Aged 27 years, 10 months, 21 days. Inscription: Left a husband and infant daughter to mourn their loss. The flush of youth, the female grace, the beauty smiling on her face, are like flower in the early (doom or gloom), cut down to decorate the tomb. Sacred to the memory of John Graham who departed this life Nov 27th 1830 Aged 42 years Edger S. Graham 1856 - 1903 Mary E. Graham 1829 - 1892 Arthur B. Graham 1836 - 1888 (All three on the same headstone) In memory of Matsey Graham died A.D. 1805 in the 10th year of her age In memory of Elizabeth Chandler who died January 1st 1853 Aged 87 years. Inscription: She was first married to Arthur Graham and 1815 to Timothy Chandler (the rest was unreadable) In memory of Arthur Graham died Nov 27th 1805 aged 43 years (the rest was unreadable) Sacred to the memory of Timothy Chandler who died Jan 20th A.D. 1833 Aged 63 years. Inscription: Go home my friend wipe your tears, I must lie here till Christ appears. When he appears I then shall arise and see you with immortal eyes. Sacred to the memory of William Graham who departed life Dec 25th 1838 Aged 41 years, 11 months, 19 days. Inscription: He left a loving wife and eight children to mourn their loss. A man sedate of sober mind to wise and (the rest was unreadable) Sacred to the memory of Margaret Graham who died A.D. 1806 Aged 88 years Sacred to the memory of Archibald Graham who died A.D. 1802 Aged 95. Inscription: Adieu to all both far and near, My loving wife and children dear. For my immortal soul is fled, I must lie numbered with the Lord. To the memory of Sarah E.
