Located about one mile northwest of Shelby, N.C. in No. 6 Township,
Cleveland County, N.C.

[Handwritten "Note: This was Wm. Forbes; his wife was Elizabeth
Forbes; they deeded 50 acres of land to Shelby town site. Griffin lists
him as Rev. Soldier in Cont….(illegible), …. In N.C. Dist. Nov. 22,
1833. *Joseph Forbes was father of Wm. Forbes … (illegible) and is the
one who served in Rev. War. Noted by M. L. Gardner Forbes?."
