                           Carter Family Cemetery

                            Cleveland County, NC

     There are not directions provided for this cemetery since it is
     on private property. W. J. Carter is William Jackson "Jack"
     Carter. His first wife was Susan Peeler, d/o John Henry Peeler &
     Nancy Gipson, who died in 1873. In 1875 Jack married her sister,
     Margaret Adela Peeler. Jacks's parents, William "Willy" Carter &
     Amy Alice Hasten are also buried in this cemetery in unmarked
     graves. There are four other unmarked graves, three of which
     belong to Towery children & the fourth is a man found dead
     floating in a creek who was never identified.
