BUFF CEMETERY This cemetery in No. 10 Township, Cleveland County, N.C. six miles north of Casar, N.C. Mrs. Katherine Buff, 87, states that Mr. Johny Watts was first person to be buried here about one hundred years ago. He requested to be buried with his head at small poplar tree, now about 18 or 20 inches in diameter. John Buff was buried here during the Civil War, but does not have a marker. Mrs. Buff was picking peas when interviewed at the age of 82! [Note discrepancy in age-82 vs. 87!] Owner of Cemetery: Workers failed to obtain information concerning its ownership.
