Floyd ==================================================================== The Buff Cemetery, Cleveland Co., NC By Dennis Morgan The Buff Cemetery is an old family cemetery outside of Casar, NC. Supposedly, Johnny Watts was the first person buried here. John Buff was also buried here during the Civil War but there is no marker for either. There seems to be between twenty and twenty five graves marked by field stones and several more not marked at all. To get there take Highway 10 East out of Casar. After traveling about 4 miles turn left on Leman Gap Road. Turn right on the second road which is Dirty Ankle Road. This road is just past the church. Travel about one and one half miles and you will come to Manning Drive. It is the second road to the right. The cemetery is directly across the road and about one hundred feet off the road.I was there on October 22, 1998. Information is provided in this format: NAME BIRTH DEATH OTHER There is a double stone there that states: In memory of John and Margaret Buff November 2, 1801 September 4, 1799 Field stone marked Sary Buff Buff, Peter Co.
