ABRAM WASHBURN CEMETERY This cemetery is located on the lands of Mrs. Coleman Elliott in No. 7 Township, Cleveland County, NC about one mile south of Washburn Switch and seven miles northwest of Shelby. It is surrounded by good quality pipe fence and in clean condition with pine, oak, hickory and wild cherry trees and a few cedars. This grave has a cross of iron at its head with the following inscription: 1861-1865 "Deo Vindice." Worker, A. G. Melton) J. T. W. B. 1862 D. 1866 (Note: The correct name is Tommie Washburn, brother of Rev. D. G. Washburn. Explained by the members of the Washburn family.) C. B. W.
