John H Morris was born in NC in 1818. I do not know which county. He married Jane Coggin or Coggins about 1843 in Chatham co NC based on the year of birth of their first child. They were in Chatham co NC in the Gulf and Bear Creek area in the 1850 census and in Moore co NC in the 1860 census and back in Chatham co NC in the 1870 and the 1880 census. He died in 1908 and Jane died in 1894. They were buried at the Grace Chapel Christian Church Cemetery in what was them Moore co NC but became Lee co NC in 1908. The Grace Chatpel Christian Church is in Tramway NC near Sanford NC.  Ross Smith  rsmith6670@msn.com

 

Willias Coggin or Coggins was born in 1796. HE is listed in the 1820 Chatham co NC census. HE married an Abigail. He had a daughter named Jane born about 1824 in Chatham co NC. She is my ancestor. She married John H Morris about 1843 based on the year of birth of their first child. Willis Coggin was a preacher at the Bear Creek Baptist Church.
