I am researching family of William Edward EZELL, b. c 1816 in Virginia. His wife's name and place of marriage are unknown. However, four children were born in North Carolina. Those children were: Howell Ezell b. c 1836 Sarah Ezell b. c 1839 John H.Ezell b February 14, 1843 William Ezell Jr. b, 1846
The record of these births came from 1850 Kentucky Census showing them born in North Carolina. John H., my grandfather, died from wounds received in the Civil War. On his Civil War pension records he listsd his place of birth as Mt. Vernon. The only Mt. Vernon I can jind on more recent maps is Mt. Vernon Springs. I assume to be the same town. Could anyone help me with any records from that area where we could prove birth dates, and name of mother and perhaps birthlplace in Virginia of father William. Any help would be appreciated... EATON. I am on a wild goose chase to determine the maiden name of Nancy LASATER, born c 1795, married William LASATER III. William was born 12 Jul 1794/ died 1825. If you have information concerning any EATON family in Chatham or Orange County, NC please respond.
Jane Drake Brody 5/23/97
I am following up on a theory concerning my DRAKE ancestors. The oldest ancestor on whom I presently have any information is John LASTER DRAKE. He was born in NC in 1822 and as far as I am aware was the eldest son in his family. He named his son Robert LASTER DRAKE and the name repeated again in other generations. It is my belief that LASTER may possibly be a maiden name passed down. I have isolated all counties in the 1830 census where both names occur. Chatham is one of these. The LASSETERS who live near DRAKES in Chatham are Abner, Hardy & William. They are all on page 419, Pittsboro with George DRAKE. Other LASTER/DRAKE pairing occur in Halifax, 295 (Lewis L DRAKE & Thomas W. LASSITER) and Northampton, 110 (Sarah DRAKE & Michael LASSITER). Do you have any info on any of these folks? Thanks.

I am searching for anyone who is descended from Thompson HARRIS and Hannah (?). Thompson HARRIS was granted land by Lord Granville in Granville Co. NC in 1755, and numerous land grants in Orange, Caswell, and eventually Rockingham Co. NC. between 1755-1761. His will was probated in Guilford Co. NC Nov 1775 which lists sons, Christopher, Thompson Jr, John, Robert and wife, Hannah. I am most interested in his son, John as I believe I am a descendant of him. From data I've been able to gather, Thompson never moved as it would seem but the county lines shifted as new counties were formed from Old Granville County NC. Descendants would be mostly in Rockingham and Guilford Co. NC. See my webpage at http://www.themall.net/~mrauth02/index.html andby all means e-mail me to exchange information.
