5. Andrew WILSON (2) (2) was born about 1761 in Rowan [Catawba] Co., North Carolina. He signed a will on 13 Jun 1842 in Lincoln (Catawba) Co., North Carolina. (3) (4) and died three years later, on 23 Mar 1845 in Catawba County, probably in the W. Startown area. The estate was probated in Apr 1845 in Catawba County. He was buried among family members in Robinson-Wilson Cem., Newton, NC. Gravestone: "Departed this life 23 March 1845, 84 years" Andrew served in the Revolutionary War, and fought at the Battle of King's Mountain. His tax listing in 1819 (Capt. Daniel Hoke's District) was: land of 3060 acres, value of $900.

The Will of Andrew Wilson - 13 June 1842; Of Lincoln Co., NC; Sound mind and memory; Body to have a decent burial; all funeral and just debts to be paid out of his estate. Son, Ezekiel Wilson, to have one bed and its furniture. Daughter, Melissent Wilson ("single woman"), to have negro man, Lewis. If she dies without children, he is to be sold and monies arisen from sale to be equally divided between daughters, Ruth Angel, Martha Debtor, and Rosanna L. Robinson, Melissent Wilson to also have one sorrel filly or colt (1 year old), two beds and their furniture, one bedstead, one chest (which she claims), one chest of drawers, her side saddle, one brass clock, one pot, dutch oven, six plates, six knives and forks, a set of teacups and saucers, and $100 to be paid out of the money arising from the estate. This is in lieu of advances given to other daughters at the time of their marriages and after. His negro man, Hector, the horses, cattle, sheep, hogs, corner cupboard, household and kitchen furniture, wagon, gears, farming utensils, all personal property of all descriptions not disposed of in this will all to be sold on a reasonable credit by the Executor. After debts, funeral expenses are paid the following: Daughter, Melissent Wilson, to have $100. If their is enough overplus, Ruth Angel and Rosanah L. Robinson to have $100, in lieu of a note which Andrew Wilson had on his son, David Wilson, which he gave to daughter, Martha Debtor. If not much money is left, Melissent Wilson to have $100, and any overplus to be divided between Ruth Angel and Rosanah L. Robinson. Any debts owning the estate should be collected and the same situation regarding Ruth and Rosanah will apply. 'Executor: Trusty friend, Joshua Wilson. Witnesses: Nathaniel Wilson and William P. Reinhardt.
Codicil: 31 Jan. 1845 - Negro man, Hector, has been sold to John Angel for $450. John Angel paid with notes as follows: A note of $100 due twelve months from date; a note of $100 due two years from date; a note of $100 due three years from date; a note of $150 due four years from date. The $100 due three years from date goes to Melissent Wilson, but this is not the $100 mentioned in the will of 13 June 1842, it is in addition to that bequest. Witnesses: J.H. Crawford and Mary E. Wilson.

He was married to Rosanah STEELE (daughter of Joseph STEELE and Martha ALEXANDER) on 2 Jan 1787, probably in Lincoln Co., North Carolina. Rosanah STEELE was born about 1768 and died on 20 Apr 1842 in Catawba County, North Carolina. She was buried in Robinson-Wilson Cem., Newton, NC. Gravestone "Rosanah Wilson - Wife of A W - Died 20 Apr 1842, age 74 yrs."
