MOSER, TIMOTHY, born May 17, 1817, in Lincoln (now Catawba) Co. Parents: The Rev. Daniel and Barbara (Moretz) Moser. An older brother was the Rev. Jonathan R. Moser. Educated, doubtless, under the instruction of his father. Married Margaret Malinda Hedrick, Sept. 8, 1848. Children: The Rev. Jason Chrysostom, Titus A., the Rev. John Franklin, Barbara Jane, Ida Caroline, Rosa B. Licensed 1844 and ordained 1847 by Tenn. Synod. Churches served: In N. C: Mt. Pleasant, Watauga Co., 1847; Zion, Catawba Co., 1847-52; St. Martin, Cabarrus Co., 1848-87; St. Martin, 1848-57, supply 1873, and Sharon, 1850-58, Iredell Co.; Morning Star, Mecklenburg Co., 1856-57; St. Martin, Stanly Co., 1856-59, 1867-88; St. Peter, Catawba Co., 1849-56; Friendship, Alexander Co., 1862-67; first pastor, Luther Union Church (merged church of Lutheran Union, Tenn. Synod, and Mt. Carmel, N. C. Synod, voting by majority of one to affiliate with Tenn. Synod), name later changed to Mt. Gilead, Cabarrus Co., 1887-88. Tenn. Synod secretary, 1856, president, 1862, treasurer, 1868. Died July 25, 1900; buried at St. Martin Church, Cabarrus Co.
