A Proposed Database Structure
of
Individuals Participating in the
War Between the States
1861-1865

INTRODUCTION

This is a proposed database structure designed to accommodate many datapoints.
It should serve as a tool for identifying and indexing Confederate soldiers, sailors,
marines and citizens participating in the War Between the States.

At least 35 fields have been assigned for the collection of data.
Not all fields will necessarily be used for every individual.
With universally common fields, entries from various sources,
using a common format, this database will allow cataloging
and combining of data, allowing the creation of a much more
comprehensive knowledge-base. All suggestions and comments are solicited.

The first test of this database will be a
collection of CSA military who died in Union prisons
