Died at Elmira on February 23, 1865, of "chronic diarrhoea." [NCT-6:310]

Returned to duty prior to May 10, 1864, when he was captured at or near Spotsylvania Court House, Virginia. Confined at Point Lookout, Maryland, May 18, 1864.
