Died at Elmira on February 23, 1865, of "chronic diarrhoea." [NCT-6:310]

Paroled at Davids Island and transferred to City Point, Virginia, where he was received on September 8, 1863, for exchange. Returned to duty prior to May 10, 1864, when he was captured at or near Spotsylvania Court House, Virginia. Confined at Point Lookout, Maryland, May 18, 1864.
