Penny
Leigh WINTERS was born on 25 Sep 1961 in
Catawba, Catawba County, North Carolina. She died
of multiple sclerosis on 18 Nov 2006 at Frye
Regional Medical Center. Her obituary appeared
as follows: HICKORY - Penny Leigh Winters Lutz,
46, of Hickory, died Nov. 18, 2006, at Frye
Regional Medical Center. Born Sept. 25, 1960, in
Hickory, she was the daughter of the late Artemus
(James) and Ruby Little Winters. She was a member
of Mount Pisgah Lutheran Church and was employed
by Wesley Hall Furniture Co. She is survived by a
son and his fiancee, James Lutz and Crystal
Huffman of Hickory; a granddaughter, Kinsley Lutz
of Hickory; a sister, Scottie Winters of Hickory;
two sisters and brothers-in-law, Janice and Eddie
Eckard and Sandra and Russell Rogers Sr., all of
Hickory; her former husband, Tony Lutz of
Hickory; and a number of nieces and nephews. The
funeral service will be held Tuesday at 3 p.m. at
Mount Pisgah Lutheran Church, with the Rev.
Michael Stone officiating. The body will be
placed in the church from 2:30 to 3 p.m.
Interment will follow in Catawba Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends tonight, Monday,
from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Bass-Smith Funeral
Home. Pallbearers will be Brian Younce, Chris
Rogers, Russell Rogers Jr., Todd Allen Rogers,
Stacey L. Eckard and Jeffrey A. Lutz. Memorials
are to be given to Multiple Sclerosis Society,
1515 Mockingbird Lane Suite 100, Charlotte, N.C.
28209 and Mount Pisgah Lutheran Church, 9379 N.C.
