409. Lula BRADY was born on 30 Jan 1902 in Conover, Catawba County, North Carolina. She died on 19 Nov 2000 in her home in Conover, North Carolina.

Her obituary read: Lula Rhoena Brady Barker, 98, of 304 3rd Street SE, Conover, died Sunday, Nov. 19, 2000 at Catawba Memorial Hospital in Hickory. Born Jan. 30, 1902 in Catawba County, she was the daughter of the late Charles Robert and Eudora Herman Brady. She was a graduate of Concordia High School and Concordia College in Conover. She was a member of Concordia Lutheran Church in Conover. She was very active at the church, where she had served as a Sunday School teacher for 46 years, president of the Dorcas Society, treasurer of the Ladies Aid, as a member of the choir and :Altar Guild. She was former secretary of Piedmont Distributors of the Carolinas, owned by her late husband. She was former secretary of Conover Furniture Company, owned by her father, Charles Robert Brady. She had also served as bookkeeper for Winters Mens Store and salesclerk for the Smart Shoppe in Conover.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, William James Barker; four brothers, Charles Brady, Clifford Brady, Harvey Brady, and Walter Brady; and two sisters, Edna Brady Melchor and Olive Brady Holland.

Survivors include one son, Donald Barker of Conover; five sisters-in-law, Mrs. Harvey. (Polly) Brady, Mrs. Clifford (Louise) Brady, Mrs. Charles (Cloe) Brady, Mrs. Walter (Charlotte) Brady and Mrs. Dot Brady; and a number of nieces and nephews.

The funeral will be conducted by Revs. Donald Oldenburg and Roy Krueger and Vicar John Greig at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Concordia Lutheran Church in Conover. Burial will follow in Conover City Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Thaddeus Moose, Bobby Holland, Steve Brewer, Stephen Brady, Lee Moritz and Stine Isenhower. Honorary pallbearers will be Mrs. Rudy (Mary Ann) McRee, Mrs. Donnie (Patsy) SETZER, Mrs. Clyde (Ruby) Hunsucker, Mrs. Darvin (Bertie) Smith, Jim Isenhower, Mrs. Clarence (Shirley) Canrobert, Lucille Love and Mrs. Wallace (Mary Ann) Perry.The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 2 p.m. Tuesday prior to the service at the church.
