Pauline (Polly) Troutman Brady – 91, of the Brian Center, formerly of 213 3rd Street SE, Conover died Friday, October 4, 2002 at the Brian Center in Viewmont. Born May 31, 1911 in Catawba County, she was the daughter of the late Zebulon Sylvanus and Era Merle Rowe Troutman. She was a former Stanley Home Products Dealer, a Welcome Wagon Hostess for Newton and Conover and Director of the Duplicate Bridge Club in Conover. She was a member of Concordia Lutheran Church, where she was a member of the Ladies Aid. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harvey C. Brady and 2 brothers, W. J. (Dub) Troutman and James Troutman. Survivors include: Daughters & sons-in-law, Ann B. and William E. Holt of Conover; Janice B. and Donald R. Langston of Lexington, KY; Glenda Brady of Blowing Rock, NC; brother & sister-in-law: Robert J. and Frances C. Troutman of West Jefferson; 7 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren several nieces and nephews. The funeral will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, October 7, 2002 at Concordia Lutheran Church. The Rev. Donald Oldenburg and Rev. John Greig will officiate and burial will follow at Catawba Memorial Park in Hickory. The body will be placed in the church 30 minutes prior to the service. Pallbearers will be Donald (Rocky) Langston, II, Jonathan Holt, Paul Holt, William Holt, Lain Wilson and Langston Wilson. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8:00 p.m. on Sunday at Drum Funeral Home in Conover and at other times at the home of Ann B. And William Holt, 713 4th Ave NE, Conover. Her obituary appeared as follows: CONOVER - Glenda Joan Brady, 71, of Conover and Blowing Rock, passed away Saturday, Jan. 6, 2007, at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte. Born Feb. 9, 1935, in Catawba County, she was the daughter of the late Harvey Clinton and Pauline Troutman Brady. She was a member of Concordia Lutheran Church in Conover and attended Rumple Presbyterian Church while living in Blowing Rock. Glenda was a graduate of the Women's College of Greensboro and the University of Pennsylvania. She had worked at the Western Carolina Center in Morganton for more than 35 years, starting as the director of physical therapy and retiring as the outreach physical therapist. Survivors include two sisters and brothers-in-law, Janice and Don Langston of Lexington, Ky., and Ann and Dr. William Holt of Conover; nieces and nephews, Andra Gyor, Donald Langston II, Leigha Langston, Jonathan Holt, Paul Holt, William D. Holt and Anne Elizabeth Holt; and eight great-nieces and great-nephews. A service of remembrance will be held today, Monday, Jan. 8, 2007, at 3 p.m. at Concordia Lutheran Church in Conover. The Rev. Donald Oldenburg will officiate. Burial will follow in Catawba Memorial Park in Hickory. The family will receive friends at the church prior to the service from 1:30 to 2:45 p.m. today, Monday. Pallbearers will be Jonathan Holt, Paul Holt, William D. Holt, Doug Brady, Brad Troutman and Donald Barker.
