655. Thomas Carroll "Tom" CLINE was born on 14 May 1933 in Catawba County, North Carolina. He was diagnosed with cancer of his lungs, c14 October 2004. Tom died on 3 Aug 2006 in Palliative Care Center & Hospice of Catawba Valley, Newton, NC at 4:15 am.

His obituary appeared as follows: HICKORY - Thomas C. Cline, 73, of Kool Park Road, NE, Hickory, went to meet his Lord after an extended illness Thursday, Aug. 3, 2006, at Palliative CareCenter & Hospice of Catawba Valley. Born May 14, 1933, in Catawba County, he was the son of the late Clyde T. and Bertha Lackey Cline. He retired as a supervisor with Highland House Furniture and was a member of Sandy Ridge Baptist Church in Hickory. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and served during the Korean War. Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Revonda Moretz Cline of the home; two daughters and a son-in-law, Donna Cline of Hickory and Lori McDonald and husband, Michael, of Conover; three sons and daughters-in-law, Patrick Cline and wife, Pam, of Newton, Willie Cline and wife, Nancy, of Hickory and Ricky Cline and wife, Linda, of Bethlehem; 10 grandchildren, Candida Miller, Mark Cline, Chris Cline, Derek Cline, Jeremy Cline, Ashley Cline, Shona Cline, Elizabeth Starr, Candace McDonald and Celia McDonald; 11 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Susan Hollifield of Bostic and Lana Hartshorne of Conover; and two brothers, Dan Cline of Conover and Jack Cline of Hildebran. A Service of Remembrance will be held at 3 p.m. Friday, Aug. 4, 2006, at Sandy Ridge Baptist Church. The Rev. Dr. David Treadway will officiate and burial will follow in Catawba Memorial Park, with military graveside rites by members of American Legion Post 16. Pallbearers will be Mark Cline, Derek Cline, Josh Cline, Chris Cline, Anthony Starr and Michael McDonald. The family will receive friends from 1:45 to 2:45 today, Friday, at the church. Memorials may be made to Palliative CareCenter & Hospice of Catawba Valley, 3975 Robinson Road, Newton, N.C. 28658.
