518. Evelyn Doris DAY²⁷⁰ was born on 4 Jun 1922 in Hickory, Catawba County, North Carolina. She died at her residence on 24 Jul 1999 at East Iris Lane, Melborne, Brevard County, Florida. She was a member of Bethany Baptist Church in Melbourne and was a homemaker. Evelyn for years had impaired vision and had surgery twice on her eyes. Late 1940's and early 1950's (as I remember). She was for the first time in her life able to see her husband and children. I remember when the band adages came off was the happiest day of her life. Evelyn was a very sweet and caring person. Her funeral was conducted by Reverend Scott Thomas, her grandson, at Heritage Funeral Home Chapel in Connelly Springs North Carolina. She was buried at Woodlawn Memorial Cemetery in Hickory, North Carolina.
