Children were Robert, William, Nicholas Francis, Mary, and John Joseph. Robert and William fought in the Civil War and served under Captain Mull. Dr. John Joseph Hicks was a dentist in Hickory, NC and was married to Mattie Burns. Children were Forrest, Fannie, Sally, Myrtle, and Virgie. After Mattie's death, John married Mary Fidella Byrum. Forrest's children were Bedford, John, Charles, Mattie, Glenn, Fred, Edward, Arno, and Helen.

Louiza married 2)  [Catawba] 1871 William A. Martin, the s/of Daniel and Elizabeth
(Hudson) Martin.   After Daniel Martin's death, Elizabeth married 2) Moses Smith.
