He was married to Elizabeth Mariah ABERNATHY on 4 Jan 1813 in Lincoln Co., NC. Elizabeth Mariah ABERNATHY was born on 7 Mar 1793 in Lincoln Co., NC. She died on 15 Feb 1877. She was christened in Oct 1997 in Stutesman notes show death 2/1/1877. Francis Marion McCORKLE Jr. and Elizabeth Mariah ABERNATHY had the following children:
