Catawba County Marriages

Let us not despair.
Let us not lose faith in people and certainly not in God.
We must believe that a prejudiced mind can be changed,
and that people, by the grace of God,
can be lifted from the valley of hate to the high mountain of love.
Martin Luther King

During the Korean War,
Catawba County had only two soldiers who died POW/MIA.
They both gave their lives for their country.
They were both black Americans.

  • Sargeant Horace Smith England (born 1918)

  • Corporal Willie Dennis Hill (born 1930)

Let's see what we can do to memorialize these heros!
