A stone wall surrounds the entire cemetery and it has 2 entrances.  Berley estimates it is 20 yds x 70 yds in size.
Martin Phifer, Sr (Oct 18, 1720 - Jan 18, 1791), whose grave is now unmarked or illegible, was the owner of
the property and an immigrant from Switzerland.  Martin Sr is the 5th great uncle of Berley Crosby.

There is evidence of many graves, some marked with field stone, broken pieces of headstones and a lot of graves
are sunken.

They could only identify 23 markers.  Martin Sr is listed by the DAR as a patriot, (he gave aid, supplies & money),
as well as provided two sons that were Colonels.  (DAR Patriot Index, Vol 3, 2003 edition).  One son, Martin Jr
is listed by DAR as a Captain.

Colonel Caleb Phifer, Lt Colonel John Phifer, Captain Martin Phifer, Jr.

Colonel Caleb Phifer is the only one of the four Revolutionary War Veterans whose grave marker is legible.

Several graves have been identified through "Phifer Genealogy" by Charles H Phifer, dated 1883.  These have
notations included by Carole.
