State Troops and was on duty as Captain and Enrolling Officer of the 1st Congressional District when he was assigned as Captain of this company. Present or accounted for with the company until June 1864 when The battalion was disbanded and he returned to his assignment as Enrolling Officer of the 1st Congressional District.

  • Enlisted at Camp Holmes, Raleigh, N. C., September 7, 1863 for the war. Appointed 1st Lieutenant when company organized. Present or accounted for until the battalion was disbanded in June 1864 and he was assigned to Company I, 23rd Regiment N. C. Troops as a Private.

  • Appointed 2nd Lieutenant while on duty as Drillmaster with the rank of 2nd Lieutenant at Camp Holmes, Raleigh, N. C. Present or accounted for until the battalion was disbanded in June 1864 and, he returned to his former duties as Drillmaster at Camp Holmes.
