I have finally found the old White cemetery. Unfortunately is has been destroyed. It appears that it was bulldozed over about 20 or more years ago. Only one marker remains, but there appears to be many sunken graves scattered throughout the area. There is also what remains of a littered post fence laying around the area. The site lies on a hill just a little above high-water mark on the west side of the Little Shallotte River and has no access by road. I had to reach it by way of boat.

The one grave that was left reads as follows:

Mare E. Daughter of A. S. and Priscilla White
Died March 23, 1862, aged 19 years

For anyone doing research on the White Family of Shallotte she was the daughter of Aaron S. White and Priscilla Caison. Aaron S. White and Priscilla Caison White have grave marks on the White Family Cemetery located behind the Camp United Methodist Church on Main Street Shallotte, Brunswick Co., North Carolina.
