John Richardson Davis served in 2nd NC Artillery, Company I, C.S.A. during the War Between the States. He was the son of William and Patience Davis of White Oak, Bladen County, NC. Martha Jane Suggs was the daughter of James McKay Suggs and Catherine Jane Tatum.
