This Indenture made this ____ day of March in the year one Thousand Eight hundred & five between Thomas Oden of the County of Beaufort and State of North Carolina of the one part and John Oden of the same place of the other part. Witnesseth that for & in Consideration of the Sum of Two hundred & twelve pounds ten shillings to me in hand paid before the ensealing and delivery of these presents by John Oden have granted bargained & sold & by these presents do give grant bargain sell & convey unto the said John Oden his heirs & assigns forever all my right title & Interest in & to a Certain tract or parcel of land Containing two hundred & fifty acres more or less it being part of a tract of land Convey^d by Isaiah Woodard to the John & Thomas Oden reference being

had to that Deed will appear which was dated 2 July 1800. lying & being in

Pamplico river and South side of Martins Swamp Beginning at an Ash on the run of said swamp about 150 yards below John Odens Spring running South to Derdens line then with Derdens line to his Corner then with Derdens line South 17. W^t to a pine in the Savannah Derdens Corner, then with said Derdens line N^o 59. W^t 98 pole to a pine, then a Straight line to Henry Smaw's Corner at the end of his first line to a fence & with the said Henry Smaw's line to his Corner an oak Standing near the main Road that leads from Washington to Bath, then with the main Road towards Bath to the first branch which makes out of Martins Swamp above what is Called the upper Cross over, then to the run of said Martins Swamp & with the meanders thereof to the beginning.
To have and to hold the above

bargained land & premises with the appertenances thereunto belonging unto him the said John Oden his heirs &

assigns forever and I the said Thomas Oden do forever warrant & defend the above bargained premises with the appertenances thereunto belonging unto the said John Oden his heirs & assigns forever against myself my heirs & assigns. In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand & seal day & year first above Written.
