Introduction

The following is an index which includes the names of Confederate States Navy and Marine Corps personnel from Beaufort Co., NC, compiled from a number of published and unpublished sources by Terry Foenander, and posted on his web site at Confederate Naval And Marine Corps Personnel. The major source for the below data are the rosters included in Series 2, Volume 1, of the Official Records of the Union and Confederate Navies in the War of the Rebellion, and numerous other sources, all of which are posted at the bottom of each of his web pages. This project is far from complete, and only a small percentage of names have been included thus far. The pages are being updated at intervals. Any additional information is most welcome.
