"A Winter Day on Lake Mattamuskeet" on DVD

This week, the Mattamuskeet Foundation is releasing a new 50-minute DVD entitled "A Winter Day - Lake Mattamuskeet." This video production was filmed on Mattamuskeet National Wildlife Refuge during last year's migration and is beautiful. It begins as the sun is coming up over the lake, goes through a typical day with the birds and other wildlife, includes an awesome sunset, and ends with a Great Horned Owl in front of the moon. There are 47 species of birds and other wildlife starring in the production, and there is no narration on the production, and no humans-only wildlife. The audio is in the highest quality stereo sound sound and has the natural sounds of the birds and wildlife, underscored with beautiful musical arranged by award-winning musician and songwriter, Blake Scott.

This will be one of the best gifts anyone can give this Christmas to people who love the lake and wildlife, and also to people who have never visited the lake. They will experience what we all talk about when we describe the thousands of birds on the refuges in the region during the winter migration. It is as though you are there. The video is suitable for all ages and kids, as well as adults, will love it. The videos can be ordered from us and are priced as follows:

DVD = $24.95 each; NC Sales tax = $1.75 each; Shipping = First copy = $3; second or third copy add $1 each. Shipping free with orders of four or more copies. We accept cash, checks, Visa or MasterCard.

The video was produced by Star Trak Recording Studios of Washington, NC. The Mattamuskeet Foundation owns all rights to the production. The net proceeds from the video sales will support other projects of the Mattamuskeet Foundation, including additional video productions. We have already contracted Star Trak Recording Studios to produce a second program in the "Winter Days" series, this time on Pocosin Lakes National Wildlife Refuge. This second production should be released around June 1, 2007.

We have plans to donate copies of the DVD to every 4th, 8th, and 10th grade class in North Carolina, every Boys and Girls Club in NC, every Ronald McDonald House in the US, every State and National Park in NC, every National Wildlife Refuge in the US, and every assisted living and nursing home in eastern North Carolina. We need to sell lots of DVDs to cover the cost of these free distributions.
