My GGG Granfather, Eli (O')Sullivan married Elizabeth Taylor in 1854 in Ashe County. According to family legend, he died during the Civil War. However, I have not ben able to locate him in any Confederate unit. Perhaps he went to KY or WV to enlist with a Union unit. His family was in Grayson County, VA in 1870. Looking for information on the Wallace family that was in Ashe Co, NC around 1700. Currently have the Wallace family history back to a Reuben Wallace borned around 1765 and died in 1820 or 1830 in Ashe Co.. No information about who Reuben married, but was able to find that he had one child named Josiah Wallace borned in 1794 or 1800 in Ashe Co. John HALL b.1754,Pittsylvania Co.,VA enlisted in the Rev.War from Wilkes Co.,NC. John m. Barsheba Palmer Hall in 1784 in Wilkes Co., and later, 1800 is found to be in Ashe Co. John and Barsheba had known children, Jesse, John Jr.,and Anna. By 1811 this family was in Floyd Co.,KY where Jesse m. Rebecca Fleetwood. In the Personal Tax lists of Scott Co.,VA 1815 we find this Hall family. By 1820 John Sr. and Jesse are living on Troublesome Creek in Perry Co.,KY. John Sr. filled in 1833 for pension for Rev.War. He appears to have received last payment in 1838 there in Perry Co.,KY. Do you know this family? Any information would be greatly appreciated.

I am searching for the burial place of my grandmother, Drucy Alvirda Phipps. She married William Lee Shelton in 1891. Her father was Thomas Phipps and her mother was Sarah DeBord. I know that she grew up in Ashe county and died at Dickey Knob in Grayson County, Virginia. I have been told that she was taken to West Jefferson, N.C. to be buried which would have been some distance to travel in the winter time ( 11 Dec 1916 ). I know that there is quite a lot of information available about the Phipps family and have their pedigree chart back to about 1500 in England, but would really like to know about my grandma and her father and grandfather (William "Bill" Phipps). William's father was the first Benjamin Phipps to arrive in Grayson County, Va. Surely there must be someone on the net now who ties in with these same families. Please help!!

James Thomas(Thomason) married Lucy Proctor in Granville Co. Nc.They are supposed to have moved to Ashe Co. NC.James married Lucy in 1805 or 1815.After James died in 1832, Lucy took her family to Letcher Co. Ky.She may have left some of the older children behind.A Cherokee Indian claim was filed in Boyd Co. Ky. by her daughter Dicy Thomas Sexton.She claims Indian blood through her father ,but could not name his parents,and because of this I am sure it is why she was denied.She also states her Mother Lucy's parents were Joseph Proctor and Dicy of Granville Co. NC.There was a Joseph Proctor who married Dicy Owens in late 1700,s in Granville Co.I have found from the Miller Guion Indian rolls that some of the Proctors were full blooded Indians and were sent to OK.,so it may be that the Proctors are the Indians in the family.I hope you can help me with this.Thank you so very much!
